Late night television is taking one more summer vacation

Expect a relatively quiet end to August in late night as a number of shows take one final summer break.

With the month of August wrapping up, summer is drawing to an end. Many people are trying their best to extend summer as long as possible and late night television is no different.

The top late night shows will be off this week and some will even be off the air for the week after that. With Labor Day around the corner, it looks as if late night is squeezing in one more summer break before gearing up for the fall.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonLate Night with Seth MeyersThe Late Show with Stephen ColbertThe Late Late Show with James Corden, and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will all be airing repeat episodes this week.

That means that late night fans will have to turn to ConanThe Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and Lights Out with David Spade to get their laughs during the week. It wasn’t that long ago that fans were in a similar situation as several shows were on an extended hiatus for the July 4 holiday.

With the most popular late night shows taking the week off, it could actually be a good thing for late night fans. If you haven’t already, give Lights Out with David Spade a chance for a nice change of pace. Conan and The Daily Show remain as consistent and entertaining as ever so there is still no shortage of options.
