It was announced earlier today that Comedy Central has decided to cancel The Nightly Show after a year and a half due to low ratings. However, fans of the show can still watch Larry Wilmore “Keep it 100” for four more episodes as he continues to follow the presidential election, which he’s dubbed “The Unblackening.” There will also be the usual panel discussion with the show’s rotating roster of comedian contributors, as well as a new guest every night.
Monday’s episode will feature writer and actress Julie Klausner, who’s best known for starring in the Hulu series Difficult People alongside Billy on the Street comedian Billy Eichner. She’s also the author of several books, hosts the podcast How Was Your Week? and has written for websites like Vulture. Wilmore is also likely to address the satirical show’s cancellation since the news broke hours before filming occurs.

Tuesday will see a visit from Connecticut’s junior Sen. Chris Murphy, who’s best known for staging a gun control filibuster in the wake of the Orlando shooting. He’s been an advocate for stronger gun laws since the Sandy Hook massacre that took place in his home state. The Democratic politician previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2013.
On Wednesday, Wilmore will welcome Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, who’s puppeteered and voiced by Robert Smigel. The former Conan regular recently premiered his second special covering the 2016 presidential race on Hulu, where he staged a focus group with Donald Trump supporters.
The Nightly Show’s final episode was set to include journalist Alison Stewart, who’s previously worked for NPR, MSNBC, ABC News, MTV News and CBS, including 60 Minutes. However, she tweeted today that she will not be on the show after all, but it’s unclear if she’ll replaced by other special guests for the last installment.
Since the cancellation was announced, several of the show’s staff members have taken to social media to react to the news:
