James Corden is set to star alongside Rose Byrne in a live-action/CG version of Beatrix Potter’s Peter Rabbit.

James Corden is slated to voice Peter Rabbit in Sony’s upcoming adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s classic children’s novel of the same name. According to Variety, Rose Byrne has also joined the project, which is described as a hybrid between live-action and CG animation.

Will Gluck (Easy A) has been hired to direct the film, which will be a modern-day interpretation revolving around the rivalry between the mischievous title character and Mr. McGregor, a senior trying to keep rabbits out of his garden. Gluck is also rewriting the latest version of the script, while Byrne, who starred in the director’s 2014 version of Annie, is set to play a live-action role.

Corden has been keeping busy of late despite his full-time gig as host of The Late Late Show, which earned four nominations at this year’s Emmy Awards. The British comedian recently traveled back to England to film episodes of the comedy panel show A League of Their Own, which he has hosted since 2010. During the trip, he was spotted consoling his friend Chris Evans, who was dumped as host of Top Gear due to poor ratings, and accused of sexual assault all in the same week. Corden also dueted with Meghan Trainor at an LA concert last month, and can next be seen on the big screen in Fox’s animated movie Trolls, which hits theaters in November.

Corden’s successful turn as host of Late Late Show has resulted in his popular segment “Carpool Karaoke” getting its own spinoff series on Apple TV, but with another host. His success has also spurred speculation as to what his next move will be once his contract with CBS expires next year. It’s been rumored that he’ll replace Stephen Colbert as host of The Late Show to capture a younger audience, but the network seems firmly committed to the former Comedy Central personality for now even amid talk of who would be a better fit for the job. However, a recent report suggested that CBS is so scared that Corden will take his talents to a rival network, that they’re considering giving him his own prime time variety show, a genre that seems well-suited for the Into the Woods actor, who showed off his singing and dancing chops while presiding over the Tony Awards earlier this summer.
