Saturday nights are all about our favorite comedy sketch show, but there is some bad news tonight, Saturday, Nov. 22. There isn’t a new episode of Saturday Night Live on.
Look, this is something we were warned of, and it’s also something completely normal. That doesn’t mean we have to like it. At least it’s not a winter hiatus, which so many other shows are going on right now.
Why isn’t Saturday Night Live on tonight?
Breaks around this time of year are common. It’s the holiday season, and people involved in Saturday Night Live need a break. While we would love to be entertained, the cast and crew are all humans with families and they deserve a break.
There isn’t a rerun of the series on tonight, though, and that’s the worst news of all. Instead, NBC will air its college football coverage, with the Washington Huskies facing the UCLA Bruins. If you want to watch an episode of SNL, you’ll need to turn to Peacock.
There is a Thanksgiving special to come
While there isn’t a new episode tonight, there is another episode to come in November. A Saturday Night Live Thanksgiving will air on Wednesday, Nov. 26. It’s the perfect way to spend Thanksgiving Eve.
Make sure you tune in at the earlier time of 9/8c on NBC that night. I know, this time doesn’t quite feel right, but it’s great for a Thanksgiving special when you just know you need an early night because the kids are going to be loud the following day!
SNL will be back with new episodes in 2025
There are no more new episodes in November, but there are still some new episodes of Saturday Night Live to come in December, and not just the Christmas special. The show will return in its usual timeslot on Saturday, Dec. 6, and we know Melissa McCarthy and Dijon will be the host and musical guest.
The guests for all three shows to air throughout December have been announced, with the end of the year being celebrated with Ariana Grande and Cher. Of course, there is also a Christmas special to come, as we’ve become used to since 2012.
Yes, after that, Saturday Night Live will go on its winter hiatus. This will hopefully be a short one, but we’ll be sure to keep an eye on the on-off schedule that the comedy sketch show seems to have.
