Jordan Schlansky joined Conan O’Brien’s otherwise delightful audience of cardboard cutouts

Jordan Schlansky has an aura and a presence that few others possess. The Conan producer proved that even a cardboard cutout likeness of himself could have a startling effect on his boss Conan O’Brien.

Conan continues to film from the Largo theater in Los Angeles. To make things feel a little more normal and still respect social distancing guidelines, O’Brien has populated his audience with cardboard cutouts of his fans.

As the size of the crowd has expanded, some new characters have emerged. Most notably is Caleb who has established himself as something of a nemesis for Conan during the Largo shows.

But for years, the closest thing to a villain on Conan has been Jordan Schlansky. Whether it is showing up late, condescending others about Italy, or harassing guests, Schlansky has found a way to simultaneously get under O’Brien’s skin and amuse him to no end. Now the master of various tasks and duties has found his way into the cardboard audience at Largo.

And just like that, Jordan Schlansky dethroned Caleb as Conan O’Brien’s most hated member of the audience.

O’Brien noted that one upside of the pandemic has been not seeing Schlansky every day. However, that hasn’t stopped Conan from using his producer-turned-villain for comedy throughout the pandemic.

First, fans were treated to a clip of Conan using a pet monitoring/feeding system to remotely check in on Schlansky. More recently, we found out that the Property Brothers were brought in to redesign Schlansky’s infamous office, only to have the project put on hold because of the pandemic.

We definitely have seen the last of Cardboard Jordan. O’Brien is likely to have more use for the cutout in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
