The Daily Show with Trevor Noah on how to make Trump’s Twitter great again
By Matt Moore
The Daily Show with Trevor Noah offered a solution to reports that President Trump’s Twitter engagement is dropping.
Like many other things, President Donald Trump’s Twitter use was something that started off outrageous but has now become the norm. While the content and motivation behind his tweets aren’t normal, the fact that Trump does lash out on social media is expected. But the public is losing interest and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah knows why that’s the case.
A report from Axios indicates that the number of people interacting with President Trump’s tweets is in decline. Even a day in which the president tweets a dozen times isn’t having the same impact as in the past. News outlets once covered Trump’s tweets as breaking news but the frequency and content of the tweets are now treated with less urgency.
Late night has also had its fun with Twitter Trump. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert especially enjoys sharing Trump’s tweets. Late Night with Seth Meyers has also cited the social media messages during several segments of “A Closer Look.”
But it hasn’t just been one-sided. President Trump has not hesitated to share his thoughts about late night via Twitter. Whether it is complaining about Saturday Night Live or attacking individual hosts, it is clear that Trump thinks Twitter is his best outlet for hitting back against critics.
Yet the engagement numbers are still falling as more and more people grow tired of Trump’s antics online. So to help the president, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah offered a solution:
The Donald J. Trump Presidential Twitter Library is coming to Washington, D.C. It has previously been on display in Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles. If you won’t be in the D.C. area between June 14-16 then you should check out the virtual tours of past exhibitions. The creativity and details put into the project by The Daily Show is impressive.
Don’t expect President Trump to actually take a break from his “empty schedule” as Trevor Noah put it and stop by for a visit. But we may see him lash out against Noah and The Daily Show for bringing the Twitter Library so close to the White House. It’s only a matter of time before Trump turns his attention from Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel to Noah.
