The SNL cast member Elon Musk made cry comes forward
By Matt Moore
Elon Musk is following in the footsteps of his friend Donald Trump and diving headfirst into late-night TV feuds. After the Tesla CEO criticized Saturday Night Live, a cast member has come forward to reveal Musk made them cry during his stint as host.
In the aftermath of the 2024 election, Musk mocked late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel as a "propaganda puppet." Kimmel wasted no time in firing back with some personal jabs at Musk in what will surely be an ongoing feud.
Then, Saturday Night Live took its turn. Dana Cameo appeared in the cold open as Musk in what was a relatively harmless impression. But apparently, Musk didn't find it funny. He posted to X that SNL was "dying" and "out of touch."
Musk's comments struck a nerve with cast member Chloe Fineman. She jumped on TikTok to defend the show and reveal that Musk made her cry when he hosted back in 2021.
Earlier this year, Bowen Yang made headlines when he admitted that a then-unnamed host was one of the worst in recent memory. Yang revealed that the host made cast members cry without giving any details as to the identities of the host or cast member.
"I'm gonna come out and say, at long last, that I'm the cast member that he made cry," Fineman said. The comedian admitted she was hesitant to share the story, but Musk's "rude" comments about SNL encouraged her to speak out.
According to Fineman, she spent all night writing a sketch before showing it to Musk. The enterpreneur apparently ripped it to shreds and claimed it wasn't funny at all.
However, the sketch made it to air. Fineman's review of the sketch seemed to be that it was OK and that Musk was actually pretty funny in it.
It's not hard to figure out the sketch in question. Fineman starred in "Ooli Show" with Musk playing Ragnarok, the producer of the Icelandic talk show. The sketch doesn't exactly bring the house down, but it's a classic Fineman sketch that includes some quality celebrity impressions. It hardly deserves the apparent thrashing Musk gave it.
Musk doesn't seem to be the type of person to let things go easily. So there's a good chance he'll dish out more criticism as Saturday Night Live season 50 rolls on. The good news is that Chloe Fineman and the rest of SNL aren't going to take it lying down.
