Saturday Night Live has had no shortage of bad hosts. Adrien Brody was banned from the show for inexplicably speaking with a Jamaican patois. Steven Seagal, meanwhile, has routinely been called the worst SNL host of the 1990s.

Evidently, the 2020s have had their own tyrannical host. Bowen Yang detailed his experience with one of the worst hosts in recent memory during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live. The SNL veteran refused to call out the host by name, but made it very clear that they will not be invited back anytime soon.

Yang claimed the host hated the SNL cast's ideas

Yang did confirm that the host in question was a name. He also confirmed that the man was so difficult during the table reads for the episode that multiple cast members burst into tears:

"This man who ... this person, this host made multiple cast members cry on Wednesday during the, before the table-read, because he hated the ideas."

Yang refused to go any further with his description, but he did treat Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen to another behind the scenes story. The SNL veteran claimed that he was eager to star in a sketch alongside The Bear star Ayo Edebiri, but the elevator set malfunctioned, leading to things sort of falling apart.

Bowen Yang may be one of the most notable stars on Saturday Night Live, but he's not afraid to speak his mind when it comes to his opinion on the show. During an episode of his podcast Las Culturistas, Yang admitted that working on SNL is "cringe."

"I know about working through cringe," the comedian told his co-host. "Climbing a cringe mountain? I work at Saturday — f**king — Night Live, the cringiest thing in show business on every level. It was surprising to hear Yang's harsh take, but he asserted that he's loved his time on the show despite his "cringe" critique.

"[I'm] eternally grateful that I work there," he added. "[It] will be the defining thing of my life and career and yet it is a cringe mountain."
