The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is in the habit of sounding the alarm anytime President Donald Trump institutes a policy the show dislikes. The latest example could spell trouble for the beer drinkers of America.

Stephen Colbert, who has warned Americans to pace themselves on Donald Trump news, has spent the past three months criticizing and mocking the president's policies. Chief among them is the sweeping tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada.

Wednesday night, Colbert's monologue shared news that would be of interest to anyone planning on buying beer in the near future. President Trump's aluminum tariffs could raise beer prices across the United States.

"Not to worry," Colbert responded. "The Late Show is proud to announce our new sponsor, Sackweiser," as he held up a plastic bag of beer.

The late-night TV host then proceeded to cut open the back and "suck on a sack," per Sackweiser's slogan. Colbert's studio audience cheered him on, adding a new chapter in Colbert's history of having a drink on the job.

Stephen Colbert warns of more rising costs thanks to Trump's tariffs

Stephen Colbert wasn't done at just warning beer drinkers. His monologue continued, discussing more everyday items that are expected to become more expensive under President Donald Trump's tariffs on steel and aluminum.

Furniture, air conditioners, and even horseshoes all got a mention on The Late Show. Colbert joked that horses will say goodbye to "clop clop" and hello to flip-flops.

Colbert went on to highlight how the trade war between the United States and Canada doesn't benefit anyone. The comedian even made sure to share excerpts from The Wall Street Journal calling out Trump's policies.

Of course, no Colbert monologue would be complete without a clip of the president himself. Colbert further mocked Trump after the president blamed Joe Biden for the economy and compared the U.S. to "a chicken being plucked at from all over the world."

The tariffs don't seem to be going anywhere, which could further exhaust Stephen Colbert. It's times like these he may want to reach for a cold one. Only now, it's going to be a Sackweiser.
