One week before Thanksgiving, Stephen Colbert already has something to be thankful for. Matt Gaetz withdrew as Donald Trump's nominee for attorney general. And as the Late Show host waved goodbye, he made sure to remind everyone of the allegations against Gaetz.

Colbert barely had time to recover from Trump's election victory before a series of shocking cabinet nominations began to roll in. None seemed as outlandish to the comedian as Matt Gaetz for attorney general. After all, the Florida congressman was the subject of a scandalous ethics investigation.

Now it appears as if the findings of that investigation were enough to convince Gaetz he wouldn't be confirmed as AG, nor was the public firestorm worth it. But Stephen Colbert wants to make sure nobody forgets just what Gaetz is accused of doing.

First up, Colbert recapped a New York Times chart detailing how money moved between Gaetz, his associates, and dozens of women. The Late Show host dubbed the graphic "the Matt Gaetz Skinematic Universe."

Colbert then shared with his audience that Gaetz withdrew his name 45 minutes after a press outlet announced plans to report the ethics committee was told about a second sexual encounter between Gaetz and a minor.

"Are you ready for it to get worse?" Colbert asked his audience. "Too bad, because here it comes," he added before diving deeper into Gaetz's dirty laundry. He then shared more lurid details about the alleged encounter involving Gaetz, the minor, other adults, and an air hockey table.

Stephen Colbert recently compared Donald Trump's cabinet picks to a pile of garbage. So at least the late-night TV host can go into the holiday break knowing that things won't be as messy in D.C. with Matt Gaetz out of the picture. It's just the rest of Trump's administration Colbert has to worry about now.
