Right on time, Seth Meyers makes his return to Late Night with Seth Meyers with new episodes very soon, and he will surely have a lot to talk about. Not only did his beloved dog Frisbee, who infamously had beef with Meyers' friend Andy Samberg, recently pass away, but the late night host also received some rather choice words from the President of the United States.

On the heels of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's cancellation and all of the political back-and-forth that has erupted between President Trump and various late night hosts, Meyers became Trump's next target in the media. In an unprovoked brutal takedown of both Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers, Trump claimed Meyers had "no ratings, talent, or intelligence."

The President's harsh words for the hosts were in reference to the reports that surfaced that NBC had no plans to cancel either Fallon or Meyers' shows, which their former SNL boss Lorne Michaels confirmed by saying the network's boss "has integrity." Thankfully, Meyers will be back after the Labor Day weekend holiday to comment on all the recent headlines!

Late Night with Seth Meyers returns in September 2025

Following a string of reruns for the end of August, Late Night with Seth Meyers airs one more rerun on Monday, Sept. 1 before returning with new episodes on Tuesday, Sept. 2. On Sept. 1, the episode featuring Jean Smart and and Molly Gordon from Aug. 7 reairs before new guests join Meyers for the next two episodes. So far, only Sept. 2 and Sept. 3 guests have been announced.

Meyers will chat with actors Kumail Nanjiani from the Broadway play Oh, Mary! and Domhnall Gleeson from Peacock's The Office spinoff series The Paper on Tuesday, Sept. 2. The following evening on Wednesday, Sept. 3, director Spike Lee chats about his latest film Highest 2 Lowest starring Denzel Washington and The Office star Rainn Wilson promotes his comedy movie Code 3.

Additional guests for the rest of the week's new episodes should be announced in the coming days and should include some exciting names. But as mentioned above, we will most certainly be tuning into the new episodes to hear what Meyers has to say in response to the president's disparaging comments. Surely, he will playfully bite back with wit and intelligence (yes, he has it).

Late Night with Seth Meyers returns from its brief hiatus on the same night that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert returns from its own extended hiatus. Colbert's show has been running reruns since early August, but he will finally be back with new episodes on Tuesday, Sept. 2, though his guests haven't been announced as of this writing. It's still an exciting week for late night!

Watch Late Night with Seth Meyers on NBC as 12:35 p.m. ET and stream on Peacock.
