Another week has arrived and with it comes another week of reruns for The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.
CBS’s late-night hit has been in rerun mode since Aug. 7, when the show signed off for its annual summer break. In the weeks that have followed, CBS has been bringing fans reruns every night and that trend will continue for the week of August 25, with no new episodes airing across the week ahead. Still, fans will be able to enjoy some encore episodes from earlier in the year if they’re flipping through the channels late at night and looking for something to watch!

When does Colbert return with new episodes of The Late Show?
After taking a longer-than-anticipated summer break, The Late Show will finally return with a new episode on Tuesday, Sept. 2. We don’t yet know who will be joining Colbert as the guests of his first show back after the summer break, but we know a new episode will finally be coming our way after the Labor Day holiday.
While the timing of the break was unfortunate, with The Late Show heading into reruns so soon after CBS shocked fans by canceling the show, it wasn’t unplanned. Every year, The Late Show takes a few weeks off in the summer and these breaks typically last a few weeks.
The good news is that once the show returns on Sept. 2, we should be in for a decent stretch of new episodes before the show takes another longer break! In fact, we might not see an extended break again until November! All we have to do is get through this final stretch of reruns and count down the days until Sept. 2!
