It’s Saturday, and that usually means we’re getting ready to sit down with our favorite comedy sketch cast members. Sadly, there is some bad news about Saturday Night Live.
Like with all NBC shows, SNL is taking some time off. We can thank the Winter Olympics for that, as the network will air the Games. In some good news, there will be an episode in February, and now we know when it is.

Saturday Night Live won’t even get reruns throughout the break
At least when there is a break in the schedule, we can get reruns of the series. In some disappointing news, we won’t even get that. NBC is airing coverage of the Winter Olympics Games for as long as it can, and that means everything is pre-empted. Even The Tonight Show and Late Night won’t get any reruns throughout this break.
So, there is only one way to get full episodes of SNL. You’ll need to turn to Peacock for all past episodes.
If you just want to watch single sketches, then YouTube is a great place to be. Everything is put up there, so you don’t need to miss out. Of course, if you’re like me, you’ll also find “The Weekend Update” tends to pop up on the FYP on TikTok or on YouTube Shorts.

When will SNL return with new episodes?
There will be an episode of Saturday Night Live in February 2026. NBC has set the date for Saturday, Feb. 28. Yes, that’s the last day of the month, but at least we get something!
The other Saturdays are all taken up by Olympic Coverage. Friday, Feb. 6 was the first night, with the Opening Ceremony. Then we’ll get coverage all the way through to Sunday, Feb. 22, which is when the Closing Ceremony takes place.
On Saturday, Feb. 28, Heated Rivalry star Connor Storrie will take to the stage in his SNL debut. Since starring on the first season of the Canadian hockey romance series, he has seen his star grow. He’s landed late night show gigs and he was a torchbearer during the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony. Now it’s time for him to appear on SNL, and we’re hoping his co-star Hudson Williams also shows up.
Sadly, tickets are not available. This is a show that puts everyone into a lottery in the summer months for the whole season. There are times when standby tickets are available, but that’s unlikely. After all, those who found out they had tickets for this taping are likely to keep them.
Saturday Night Live is available to stream on Peacock while we wait for new episodes to return.
