February is just around the corner, and many will know that it’s a special one this year. The Winter Olympic Games are taking place, and NBC will air the Games throughout the two-week event. That means NBC’s schedule is being disrupted, incluing the late night shows such as Late Night with Seth Meyers.
It’s disappointing news to come, but it’s not completely unexpected. The Games are being held in Milan, which is on a six-hour time difference, so while Late Night usually airs, there could be some coverage going on. Even if not, NBC will opt for news about the event instead of new episodes of regular shows.

When will Late Night with Seth Meyers go dark?
Late Night is taking the full two weeks off for the Games, unlike Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which is only planning to take one week off. The last new episode will air on Thursday, Feb. 5.
There are no new episodes on Fridays anyway, but with the Opening Ceremony taking place on Friday, Feb. 6, there wouldn’t be a new one. The Tonight Show will air a new episode on that night, though, as it’s getting some special post-Opening Ceremony coverage.
From Monday, Feb. 9, the show will be dark for two weeks. It’s not clear if there will be time for any reruns that whole time, as the full schedule hasn’t been confirmed yet. This could depend on the success of late night news coverage and rerun coverage of the Games.

When will Late Night return with new episodes?
1 iota, which is the site you can get tickets for Late Night and other late night shows from, has Monday, Feb. 23 as the next show with tickets available after the dark period. So, that should be the first date of new episodes.
Now, it is worth noting that there is a taping slated for Tuesday, Feb. 24. This could change, as there’s not usually an episode taped on a Tuesday night. Meyers tends to tape two episodes on Mondays and then goes into Wednesday and Thursday for the other two episodes.
It looks like it is a one-off with a taping on a Tuesday. After this, the tapings are back to Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, with shows available to join the waitlist of tickets through to Thursday, March 26 at the time of writing this.
There are no slated breaks in March, which is exciting. The two weeks off in February for the Olympics coverage likely helps to space out the new episodes in the schedule.
Late Night with Seth Meyers airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.
