Monday was the kind of day Stephen Colbert has been waiting years to see. So what should fans expect to see tonight on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert?

Donald Trump's latest trial began in New York City as he faced charges related to a hush money payment. The former president sat (and reportedly slept) through the jury selection process. It was a day that Colbert has eagerly anticipated.

First up, Stephen Colbert will interview author Salman Rushdie. The writer is out promoting his new book Knife, which details the assassination attempt he survived in 2022. The book covers Rushdie's recovery with the help of medical professionals and his wife.

Then, actor Anna Sawai joins The Late Show. Her past credits include Ninja Assassin, Pachinko, and the Fast and Furious franchise. She currently co-stars in the critically acclaimed FX series Shōgun.

Finally, musician Terence Blanchard will perform on the show. The pianist and trumpeter recently performed shows of his concert Fire Shut Up in My Bones.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert airs tonight, April 15, at 11:30 p.m. ET on CBS. The show is also available on Paramount+.
