Late-night TV host gloats after being named sexiest male celebrity

In an unexpected turn of events, a late-night TV host celebrates after being crowned the "sexiest male celebrity." And he's not being shy about basking in the spotlight.

Gambling website BetUS released its list of the "sexiest male celebrities." The website used criteria based on the "Golden Ratio (measurement of facial symmetry), personality type, occupation, Instagram following, and Google Search Volume to rank and determine the sexiest male celebrity in the nation."

And the winner is ... Stephen Colbert. The website gave the Late Show host a Golden Ratio score of 8.79 while touting the comedian's "wittiness and infectious humor." Colbert also scored points for his personality.

Colbert kicked on Tuesday night's episode of The Late Show by sharing the news. He took a bow in front of his audience in the Ed Sullivan Theater and gladly accepted the honor as a replacement for an Emmy. Colbert also kept it tongue-in-cheek when thanking BetUS, "America's top online gambling website that is not the ones you've heard of."

The comedian kept that vibe going as he pored through BetUS's ranking. There may have been some typos along the way, a deceased celebrity, and Pat Sajack outranking Jude Law, but Colbert didn't let that undercut the message: he's the sexiest celebrity in the nation (when looks are deemphasized).

Stephen Colbert wasn't the only late-night TV personality on the list

Stephen Colbert had some company from the world of late-night TV on the list. Apparently, BetUS's system thinks that sexiness and hosting late-night TV go hand-in-hand.

James Corden came in third on the list. The former Late Late Show host has been off the air for a bit, but he seemingly hasn't gone off the BetUS radar.

Jimmy Kimmel landed in fifth on the list. And Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon also made the cut, coming in seventh place.

Watch What Happens Live! host Andy Cohen pops up in 87th place, between Jim Carrey and Chris Pratt. Saturday Night Live alumni Will Ferrell and Adam Sandler also showed up near the bottom of the 179 celebrities on the list.
