After taking Martin Luther King Jr. Day off, Jon Stewart returned to The Daily Show on Monday, Jan. 26 as promised. We got an interview with Jason Rezaian from The Washington Post, who is also the Director of Press Freedom Initiatives and a contributor to CNN.
Now it’s time for another co-host to take over. Desi Lydic will take over for the rest of the week, and she has a packed interview schedule.
The guests on The Daily Show from Tuesday, Jan. 27–Thursday, Jan. 29
Tuesday, Jan. 27 will welcome Michael Urie to the stage, as he talks about Shrinking season 3. The Apple TV comedy returns on Wednesday, Jan. 28 with a one-hour premiere, and there is a lot to catch up on. Season 2 left us in tears, as Jimmy rushed to Louis’s aid in an attempt to save his life. It was completely unexpected, and now we need to know what to expect on season 3.
Mikie Sherrill will then come to the desk on Wednesday, Jan. 28. He’s the newly inaugurated governor of New Jersey, and he’s sure to talk about what his constituents can expect now that he has the keys to the kingdom. This isn’t the first time Sherrill has been involved in The Daily Show, although it’s more through the podcast The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart. He appeared in November, shortly after his victory on Election Night.

Thursday, Jan. 29 is all about The Pitt. Katherine LaNasa is doing the rounds on the late night talk shows this week, where she can talk all about Dana and what to expect as the second season gets underway. The fourth episode of the season will have aired by the time The Daily Show airs, but it wouldn’t have done at the time of filming, so don’t expect any spoilers from that episode.
Of course, Jon Stewart will be hosting once more on Monday, Feb. 2. I’m sure all eyes are on the plans for the Winter Olympics, and we already know what they are. The Daily Show is going dark for just one week in February, during the second half of the Winter Olympics. There will be new episodes up to Thursday, Feb. 12, and then the show will return on Monday, Feb. 23. This is the same as Jimmy Kimmel Live!
The Daily Show airs on weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central.
