The Daily Show is set to go dark during the Winter Olympics (find out when)

There is no doubt that we’re happy that The Daily Show is back, but there is some upcoming disappointing news. It looks like things are set to go dark for a week.

The show already went dark on Monday, Jan. 19 due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Now it’s time to go dark for much longer, and while Comedy Central hasn’t confirmed this, the lack of tickets available indicates that this is happening.

When will The Daily Show go off the air in February 2026?

The good news is that the break only looks to be for a week. There are tickets available for tapings for the majority of February, taking us up to Thursday, Feb. 12. That’s when the show is likely to go dark for a week, before returning on Monday, Feb. 23.

This is the second week of the Winter Olympics, and it’s possibly when Comedy Central believes that most people will be tuning in for the Games. It may also be a timed break to help with scheduling out the episodes throughout the year. After all, we don’t get a full year of new episodes!

This is also the time that many other late night shows are expected to go off the air. We’re especially expecting The Tonight Show and Late Night to go dark as NBC is airing the Winter Olympic Games.

There is another break coming in March 2026

While the show will be back for two weeks after that, there is more disappointing news. There are no tickets available for the week of Monday, March 9, which suggests that the series is off for another week then.

This one is likely to do with scheduling. While March Madness does start up around this time, it doesn’t usually affect The Daily Show, so it’s probably just to make sure there are enough weeks to fill through to the end of the year. The show will be back week commencing Monday, March 16.

As of now, the tickets are only showing for up to the end of March. We’ll need to wait for future dates to get a sense of when the show will end up going dark again.

During these breaks, you can watch past episodes of The Daily Show. Remember that all episodes are available to stream on Paramount+ and there are clips posted on YouTube and other social media platforms, which has become a popular way for many to watch, especially when it comes to the monologues and “After the Cut.”

The Daily Show airs on weeknights at 11/10c on Comedy Central.
