Comedians lead the late-night TV guests to watch this week, Dec. 16
By Matt Moore
No matter how many A-list actors or record-breaking musicians stop by late-night TV, there is no better guest than a comedian. And this week is a perfect example of that as some of the funniest people in the world stop by late-night.
While shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, After Midnight, and The Daily Show are off the air this week, the rest of late-night TV delivers brand-new episodes featuring some of the biggest names in comedy.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon doesn't waste any time, leading off Monday night's guest lineup with Fred Armisen. The Saturday Night Live alum will be back in 30 Rock.
Armisen is out promoting his role in the Broadway play All In: Comedy About Love, written by former Saturday Night Live writer Simon Rich.
Comedian Dustin Nickerson will perform on The Tonight Show on Tuesday, December 17.
On Wednesday, December 18, comic Nate Bargatze is the first guest to chat with Jimmy Fallon. He'll chat about his Christmas variety show produced by Lorne Michaels.
Then, Jessica Williams joins the show. The former Daily Show correspondent can currently be seen in the Apple TV+ series Shrinking.
Finally, the week wraps up with another dose of Saturday Night Live talent. Comedy legend Martin Short will be there to preview his gig hosting SNL on December 21. Cast member Chloe Fineman will follow.
Late Night with Seth Meyers
Late Night with Seth Meyers should get a boost of energy on Tuesday, December 17. Comedian and actor Billy Eichner joins the show.
Eichner, famous for Billy on the Street and his run as a Conan correspondent, will be out promoting his new movie Mufasa. Eichner returns as Timon from The Lion King.
Thursday, December 19 sees the return of John Mulaney. He'll be joined by Simon Rich as the two discuss their work together on All In: Comedy About Love.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on NBC at 11:35 p.m. ET. Late Night with Seth Meyers follows at 12:35 a.m.
