Colin Jost and Michael Che announce new show
By Matt Moore
Colin Jost and Michael Che are teaming up outside of Saturday Night Live. The “Weekend Update” co-anchors announced a new show that will see them share the stage.
Jost and Che have been off television since late April. That’s when Saturday Night Live went on hiatus and eventually cut season 48 short due to the writers’ strike. But now, the pair has plans for a new show that’s also live from New York.
“Saturday Night in NYC” will feature Jost and Che on stage together at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. The comedy show is scheduled for Saturday, October 14.
Neither comedian provided much detail about what to expect from the show. Whether it’s more than a join stand-up show remains to be seen. There’s the possibility of a “Weekend Update” like segment, but both Jost and Che are more than capable of performing top-notch stand-up without pulling stories from the news.
How to get tickets to Colin Jost and Michael Che’s show
According to Michael Che’s Instagram, a presale for “Saturday Night in NYC” will be available on Wednesday, August 16. Interested fans can use the code “LIVE” for early access to tickets.
After that, tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, August 18 beginning at 10:00 a.m. ET. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.
Jost and Che aren’t the only Saturday Night Live stars on tour this summer. Cast members such as Sarah Sherman, James Austin Johnson, Devon Walker, and Andrew Dismukes are some of the SNL names out on the road performing shows.
In the SNL alumni category, John Mulaney and Pete Davidson recently announced a show with former Daily Show host Jon Stewart. Outside of SNL, late-night TV hosts Seth Meyers and John Oliver have also announced shows.
