Who is the current Jeopardy! champion?
Ryan Long, a rideshare driver from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the current Jeopardy! champion. His two-week run has pocketed him over $260,000 so far.
On Thursday, looking to dethrone Long were Tom Philipose, a writing professor from Forest Hills, New York, and Maya Sudarsana, a customer success manager from Boston, Massachusetts.
The “Jeopardy!” round saw a close battle between Long and Philipose. The professor ended the round in the lead with $8,800, while Long wasn’t far behind with $8,600. Sudarsana had some catching up to do at -$200.
Long’s success on the buzzer gave him the lead following “Double Jeopardy!” play. He banked $22,800 to lead Philipose and his $18,800. Sudarsana never got things rolling and finished with $2,000.
“Final Jeopardy!” produced another triple stumper as all three players answered incorrectly. Philipose went big and wagered everything. It left the door open for Long, who only bet $3,500, to remain the Jeopardy! champion.
What was tonight’s Final Jeopardy! clue?
Tonight’s clue wasn’t easy. Here it is in the category “UNESCO World Heritage Sites”:

Answer: What is Petra?
Petra, Jordan was tonight’s correct response that players failed to come up with. Maya Sudarsana and Tom Philipose both wrote down Jaipur, while Ryan Long guessed Baghdad.
