MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell was recently turned away from a Republican Governors Association Conference. To get Lindell’s side of the story, Jimmy Kimmel Live! set up another exclusive interview with the businessman.

According to Lindell, he was denied access to the event despite receiving an invitation and picking up his credentials from a Nashville hotel. The RGA responded by stating that Lindell attempted to attend a dinner reserved for RGA members, which Lindell is not.

It was another headline-making incident for Lindell who rose to political prominence thanks to his outspoken support for former President Donald Trump. Since the election, Lindell has promoted conspiracy theories about voter fraud and is facing a $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit from Dominion Voting Systems.

Lindell’s dive into politics and his public appearances have fascinated Jimmy Kimmel. The late night host’s obsession with the MyPillow guy culminated in a one-on-one interview back in April. This followed a number of appearances by a parody version of Lindell on the show, which was revived on Thursday night:

Jimmy Kimmel’s version of Mike Lindell continues to be a hit

Considering he was able to get into the White House, Mike Lindell probably thought he’d have no problem accessing RGA events. But the businessman quickly learned that he doesn’t have the same pull now that Donald Trump has left office. Trump may still influence the GOP, but the party is keeping its distance from Lindell.

Jimmy Kimmel probably wants to keep his distance from Lindell, too. The comedian received backlash for giving Lindell a platform earlier this year. Ultimately, it didn’t cost Kimmel anything to have the MyPillow guy in studio but fans shouldn’t expect him to be a recurring guest.

And that’s for the best because Kimmel’s version of Lindell is far more entertaining. Comedian James Adomian does a fantastic job playing an already over-the-top character, combining a flawless delivery with a hilarious physicality.
