MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell made his highly anticipated appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night. Lindell and Jimmy Kimmel failed to find any common ground in an interview that was more respectful than awkward.

Kimmel’s constant monologue jokes at Lindell’s expense finally caught the MyPillow Guy’s attention earlier this month. Lindell accepted an invitation to the show, eager to share his claims of election fraud and of how China hacked Dominion Voting Systems.

They are the same claims that have resulted in Lindell facing a $1.3 billion lawsuit from Dominion and losing millions in revenue from MyPillow boycotts. It’s also the reason many criticized Kimmel for giving Lindell a platform.

But as Kimmel stated at the start of the interview, he thought it was better to sit down and have a face-to-face conversation with Mike Lindell. It set the tone for an interview that featured two men respectfully disagreeing about reality. Lindell did not try to hijack the show nor did Kimmel try to hit Lindell with “gotcha” questions or embarrass him (too much). Check out the clip below:

Jimmy Kimmel tries to figure out what’s going on in Mike Lindell’s mind

Jimmy Kimmel’s jokes about Mike Lindell have covered everything from the CEO’s pillows to his relationship with former President Donald Trump to his history of drug addiction. But with Lindell in studio, Kimmel had a different tone when it came to Lindell’s checkered past.

Kimmel suggested that Lindell’s years of drug abuse could be responsible for the paranoia he’s experiencing now. Lindell admitted that he has been away from his home, fearing for his life due to threats. Kimmel went on to hypothesize that Lindell has a self-destructive streak that is causing him to go down a rabbit hole of conspiracy theories rather than focus on his successful business and work with addicts.

Lindell dismissed Kimmel’s theories and was adamant that he has convincing evidence that China hacked election systems. Yet Lindell did not have an answer when Kimmel asked what the Trump administration did with the evidence Lindell brought to the White House during his infamous meeting.

The interview closed out with Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s version of Mike Lindell (James Adomian) crashing the stage. Credit to the real Mike Lindell for rolling with it and laughing at his own expense.

Lindell and spoke in a respectful way and avoided any of awkward or tense moments that some anticipated coming from their conversation. It was clear that Lindell and Kimmel weren’t going to convince each other of anything. It was also obvious that nobody watching was going to be convinced of anything, either. Lindell’s followers and supporters will consider his appearance a victory. Meanwhile, everyone else will dismiss him and Jimmy Kimmel Live! will move on.
