Is Real Time with Bill Maher new tonight, January 15?
By Matt Moore
What should Real Time with Bill Maher fans expect to see tonight on HBO?
The past week has been filled with debate, discussion, and analysis over what happened at the Capitol and the subsequent fallout. One voice has been notably absent: Bill Maher. Is tonight the night Real Time with Bill Maher finally returns?
Bill Maher spent more than a year warning everyone that President Donald Trump would not give up power. His prediction was typically met with laughter or dismissed as hyperbole. Now there is plenty of reason for Maher to say “I told you so” when he gets back in front of a camera.
We’ll find out tonight. There is a brand new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight as season 19 kicks off on HBO.
Who’s on Real Time with Bill Maher tonight?
Bill Maher was last seen back on Nov. 20, saying goodbye to 2020 and to President Trump. Expect Maher’s monologue to recap some of the stories he missed between seasons. But most of the attention should be on President Trump’s historic second impeachment and the attack on the Capitol.
Then, it’s time for the guests. And season 19 starts off with a bang as Maher welcomes some high-profile names to the show.
The lead interview will be with Kellyanne Conway. The former Senior Counselor to President Trump is making her first Real Time appearance since Sept. 2016, so she and Maher have a lot to catch up on.

It will be interesting to see if Maher holds Conway accountable for President Trump’s actions even after she left her position. On Twitter, Conway has condemned the violence at the Capitol but critics suggest it is part of her image rehabilitation post-Trump.
Tonight’s panel also features familiar names. One is returning to Real Time for a second time while the other is a first-timer.
Katie Couric is a journalist who currently hosts the podcast “Next Question with Katie Couric.” She should weigh in on the Capitol violence, President Trump’s impeachment, and what to expect in the Biden/Harris administration.
Matt Jones is an author and radio host. In Oct. 2020, he published the book Mitch, Please!
How Mitch McConnell Sold Out Kentucky (and America, Too). Maher will surely ask him about Senator Mith McConnell’s approach to impeachment and the future of the Republican Party after President Trump.
