The Daily Show puts President Donald Trump’s record up against his predecessors

President Donald Trump will be the first one to tell you that he’s the greatest man to ever hold the position. But you don’t have to take his word for it thanks to a new video from The Daily Show with Trevor Noah.

As President Trump accepts the Republican Party’s nomination for president and prepares to defend his accomplishments against former Vice President Joe Biden, his record over the past four years has been under scrutiny. His promise to “make America great again” has morphed into “keep America great” and back.

So while others want to focus on the pandemic response or his reaction to social justice protests, President Trump has many other accomplishments he wants to spotlight going into the election. And he thinks those accomplishments outshine not only Joe Biden but every other president in U.S. history.

If the cult-like Republican National Convention wasn’t enough to convince you that Donald Trump is the best thing to happen to the White House, then The Daily Show is here to help. Narrated by Westworld and The Batman actor Jeffrey Wright, the Comedy Central show released “Donald J. Trump: The Greatest President in History of All Time.”

The Daily Show recaps every major gaffe and controversy from President Trump’s tenure

The country needs a president who is well-versed in military science, the environment, economics, diplomacy, and so many more areas. President Trump has certainly championed himself at the best in all those categories and reminded the public that he knows more about just about anything than anyone else does. That sort of expertise is rare in a president, proving that Donald Trump truly is one of a kind.

In its tongue-in-cheek celebration of President Trump’s greatness, The Daily Show managed to recap nearly every gaffe, blunder, and head-scratching moment from the past four years. And while these things were covered in real-time by late-night and others, being reminded of them one after the other can be a little jarring.

The Daily Show hits on everything from the Muslim travel ban to Sharpiegate to the unprecedented turnover within the Trump administration. It feels like President Trump’s tenure has included more headlines and scandals than the previous 44 presidents’ combined. So in that sense, President Trump truly is unlike any other president the United States has seen.

The clip makes sure to include a section on President Trump’s oratory skills. Following a gifted public speaker like President Barack Obama put a lot of pressure on President Trump. As a “stable genius” with “the best words,” the current president was ready for the challenge. But as The Daily Show has reminded viewers time and time again, that’s not quite reality.

If you watched the Republican National Convention then this video from The Daily Show doesn’t sound too far off from what the GOP says about President Trump. Only time will tell if he’ll get four more years to add on to his legacy.
