Which late-night television shows have new episodes this week?

It’s Monday and that means the start of another week of late-night television. But the calendar has also flipped to August, a time when many people take time away from work. And even in the time of the pandemic, vacations are on the schedule this week.

It is certainly something that late-night TV fans have become used to. It’s been a while since we’ve seen The Late Late Show with James Corden while last week saw a run of repeats for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

With the CBS shows and others off last week, NBC was the go-to place for late-night TV. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers both delivered an excellent week of shows with the spotlight on them.

So where can fans go to find new shows this week? Last Night On is here to break it all down and point you in the right direction.

Here are the late-night TV shows that are back this week

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has been leading the way when it comes to late-night shows getting back to “normal.” It was one of the first to produce shows remotely and was one of the first to include a charity element to its broadcast.

Then it became the first late-night show to go back to the studio. The Tonight Show has been taped at 30 Rock for a few weeks now and that will continue with more new shows this week.

Notable guests this week include Common, Jamie Foxx, and Matthew McConaughey. The Tonight Show airs at 11:35 PM ET on NBC.

Late Night with Seth Meyers follows its lead-in’s example with its own week of new shows. Expect a few more installments of “A Closer Look” this week as the Emmy-nominated show continues to be among the best when it comes to political commentary.

This week, Meyers will chat with Sean Penn, Jane Curtin, and Seth Rogen among others. Late Night airs at 12:35 AM ET on NBC.

Here are the late-night TV shows that are off this week and when they could return

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has looked different all summer. Jimmy Kimmel is taking the summer off in what will be an annual tradition for the foreseeable future. Guest hosts like Whitney Cummings, George Lopez, and Billy Eichner have filled in.

If you missed any of them, you’ll get another chance this week. ABC will reair guest-hosted episodes of JKL. Fans can see Eichner, Joel McHale, Nikk Glaser, Sebastian Maniscalco, and Anthony Anderson. Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs at 11:35 PM ET on ABC. After airing reruns last week as well, the show should return next Monday with new episodes.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is also off again this week. It seems like every time Colbert takes a week off, a major story involving President Donald Trump breaks. Then again, that just may be the nature of life in the Trump era.

CBS will instead air a collection of recent episodes. Interview guests include Jon Stewart, Mary Trump, and James Corden. Expect The Late Show to return next week. Speaking of Corden…

The Late Late Show with James Corden remains on hiatus. Fans will be treated to some recent favorites including interviews with Will Ferrell, David Tennent and Jodie Whittaker, and Rita Wilson.

Conan will also be reruns this week. Shows featuring Martin Short and Luke Wilson will air this week on TBS. Fans will get another week of encore episodes for next week as well. But Team Coco always keeps its audience entertained. “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” started season three today and Conan Without Borders episodes can be found on HBO Max.

Full Frontal with Samantha Bee will be in the same category as its TBS partner. The late-night show will reair its July 1 episode on Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Expect the same for The Daily Show with Trevor Noah. Comedy Central will reair episodes this week with a plan for new shows starting Aug. 10.
