Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, March 14?
By Matt Moore
Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?
It has been a strange few days in the world of late night television. The novel coronavirus outbreak has forced some shows to cancel episodes and others go without a studio audience. So how will that impact Saturday Night Live?
New York City’s late night shows, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and The Daily Show with Trevor Noah have all had to adjust. The Tonight Show won’t tape any new episodes until March 30. Late Night released only a rehearsal version of “A Closer Look” to YouTube. The Daily Show plans to go without a live audience starting next week.
No late night show is more synonymous with New York City than Saturday Night Live. Will novel coroanvirus result in a cancelled show? Or will Saturday Night Live not be live in front of a studio audience?
The short answer: there is not a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. But that has nothing to do with health concerns or the efforts to contain novel coronavirus.
Instead, it is just a case of good timing. The next episode of SNL wasn’t scheduled until March 28. A Quiet Place Part II director John Krasinski will host. Dua Lipa is the musical guest. We’ll have to wait and see where things stand before we know for sure if that show will be impacted.
Tonight NBC will re-air the Nov. 2, 2019 episode hosted by Kristen Stewart with Coldplay as the musical guest. If you still want more SNL content to hold you over, Last Night On has you covered with these links:
