Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, February 15?
By Matt Moore
Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?
We have reached the end of another week as well as the halfway point of February. This also means we are past the halfway point of Saturday Night Live‘s 45th season.
Like any other season, this year Saturday Night Live has seen it’s fair share of ups and downs. In recent weeks, episodes hosted by J.J. Watt and RuPaul have done an admirable job of trying to maintain the momentum from predecessors like Scarlett Johansson, Eddie Murphy, and Adam Driver.
The Democratic race to be the presidential nominated has heated up and so too has the coverage on Saturday Night Live. Larry David, Rachel Dratch, and Fred Armisen are becoming regulars on the show for their portrayals of Senator Bernie Sanders, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, respectively.
Fans have also been treated to the return of Jason Sudeikis as former Vice President Joe Biden. The season kicked off with Woody Harrelson taking on the role in multiple shows. But lately, Sudeikis has jumped back in with his fan-favorite version of Biden, making our wish come true here at Last Night On.
So what will Saturday Night Live do tonight? Keep the attention on the Democrats or go after President Donald Trump for his post-acquittal antics? Or is the show due for a break before it starts the final third of the season?
Sorry, SNL fans but it’s the latter. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. The show returns on Feb. 29 with host John Mulaney and musical guest David Byrne.
Instead, NBC will rebroadcast the record-setting episode hosted by Eddie Murphy with musical guest Lizzo. If you still need your Saturday Night Live fix, you can revisit sketches on the show’s YouTube channel or check out these links:
