Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, January 18?
By Matt Moore
Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?
You can feel it, can’t you Saturday Night Live fans? It’s time for the show to return. Late night television just hasn’t been the same!
Saturday Night Live has been off on a holiday break since Dec. 21. The show did manage to go out on a high note–the highest note possible, actually. The Eddie Murphy-hosted show set multiple records for Saturday Night Live and made it one of the most talked-about pop culture moments of the year.
So for that, and the nine other episodes we’ve seen in season 45, fans can understand a break was in order. But now that we’re into 2020 is it time for Saturday Night Live to return? Or is the cast, crew, and staff taking one more week to recharge?
Keep waiting, Saturday Night Live fans. There is not a new episode for Jan. 18. However, that doesn’t mean audiences shouldn’t tune into NBC tonight.
At 10:00 PM ET, NBC will air the Jan. 17, 1976 episode hosted by Buck Henry with musical guest Bill Withers. The season one episode will air in honor of Henry, who passed away on Jan. 8. Henry was a 10-time SNL host and often hosted multiple shows per season.
At 11:30 PM, NBC will rerun the Jennifer Lopez hosted episode from this season. It was another good-but-not-great show in which Lopez did everything that was asked of her.
Saturday Night Live. returns on Jan. 25 with host Adam Driver and musical guest Halsey. Both Driver and Halsey hosted in season 44 so obviously the pair made a good impression on everyone at Studio 8H.
If you don’t want to wait that long for Saturday Night Live content, then Last Night On has you covered. Check out these recent posts from the world of SNL:

Again, Saturday Night Live continues season 45 with a brand new episode on Jan. 25. Marriage Story and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker star Adam Driver hosts for the third time. The Manic singer returns after serving as both host and musical guest last season.
