Jimmy Kimmel marked a major milestone in Donald Trump’s presidency and caught up on the latest Ukraine development.

President Donald Trump is known for always wanting the best or most of anything. Recently, he may have got his wish but not exactly in the way most presidents would want. It was reported that President Trump told his 13,000th lie while in office, an occasion Jimmy Kimmel thought worth nothing.

The 13,000 false or misleading claims from President Trump, calculated by The Washington Post, means Trump gave Jimmy Kimmel 13,000 chances to make fun of him. Kimmel and the rest of late night has made the most of those opportunities since 2017.

The system of Trump telling lies and late night hosts telling jokes has worked out much better for the comedians. Shows like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert have benefited in the ratings while Jimmy Kimmel Live! and the others have a steady stream of material night in and night out.

So with The Late ShowThe Tonight Show, and Late Night all off this week, it has been up to Kimmel to carry the torch when it comes to keeping the White House in check. On Tuesday night, he kept fans updated on the Ukraine scandal which now involves former national security adviser John Bolton.

Jimmy Kimmel has become something of a Trump accountant in late night. His show has tallied up Trump’s tweets, how often he plays golf, and has kept track of who is coming and going from the White House. Now we can add Trump’s lies to the list of things Kimmel is counting up for his audience.

The turnover rate in President Trump’s White House means it can be easy to forget about the cast of characters that once worked in his administration. Scandals and controversies like the one involving Hunter Biden and Ukraine means that none of those people are ever really gone. They can show up in the news again at anytime, like John Bolton.

It also means that Kimmel will always have another chance to crack a joke at their expense. His slideshow reminds everyone that Bolton probably was never on board with President Trump. And like a good ABC employee, Kimmel also reminds everyone that they can still catch Sean Spicer on Dancing With the Stars.

The more intense the impeachment inquiry and Ukraine investigation get, the more President Donald Trump will have to explain his actions. And if he isn’t willing to tell the truth then Jimmy Kimmel will have a few hundred more jokes ready to go.
