Stephen Colbert looked at President Donald Trump’s final day in the UK and interview with Piers Morgan.

President Donald Trump’s visit to the UK is officially over. He’s moved on to Ireland as his international tour continues. On The Late Show, Stephen Colbert did his best to summarize Trump’s last day in the UK.

Late night has been having a lot of fun watching the president and the rest of Team Trump navigate things overseas. Colbert found just about every part of the first day entertaining while The Daily Show with Trevor Noah focused on the protests during day two.

President Trump’s last day was spent with someone he is probably much more comfortable around. It wasn’t a member of the royal family or British parliament. Instead the president looked most at ease while being interviewed by Piers Morgan for Good Morning Britain. The interview brought together two of Colbert’s favorite comedic targets so of course the Late Show host had a lot to say about the footage.

Colbert took issue with Morgan praising Donald Trump’s behavior while visiting Queen Elizabeth II. Apparently not creating an international incident and not completely ignoring protocol was worth mentioning.

Stephen Colbert being shocked that Trump’s behavior was somehow being praised was reminiscent of a similar incident not too long ago. When some people applauded Trump for how he acted during President George H.W. Bush’s funeral, Colbert was quick to call that out as well.

For Colbert, Trump has set the bar so low for himself that it has become easy for him to be celebrated for doing nothing. It’s why Colbert can only think to compare him to a a well-behaved dog, adding another insult to the comedian’s long list against the president.

Colbert goes on to pick apart just about everything else in the interview with Piers Morgan. Trump’s comments on climate change, the Vietnam War, and the queen’s walking speed were all portrayed as bizarre. We’ve come to expect these types of remarks when the president is chatting freely but it’s a little more entertaining when The Late Show packages them back-to-back-to back.

As Stephen Colbert mentioned, President Donald Trump is now in Ireland. That visit already had controversy surrounding it which explains the airport VIP meeting location. Trump’s international tour is just getting started. The same could be said for The Late Show‘s coverage.
