For the 10th year in a row Jimmy Kimmel Live! sent Guillermo to cover Media Day at the NBA Finals.

The NBA Finals are in full swing at this point. Millions of fans have been looking forward to seeing the Golden State Warriors go against the Toronto Raptors. And a number of those fans have also been eagerly waiting to see what Guillermo did during media day.

Guillermo has had quite the rise on Jimmy Kimmel Live!from parking lot security guard, to appearing in sketches, to becoming Jimmy Kimmel’s sidekick, and now a celebrity in his own right. He’s also become the best correspondent in all of late night, covering everything from  the Oscars to the Super Bowl.

The NBA Finals have been like a second home to Guillermo as far as these events go. It has been 10 years that Kimmel has sent Guillermo out to catch up with players and coaches. For the previous eight years, it has been all about LeBron James. Whether he was on the Miami Heat or the Cleveland Cavaliers, James was one of the only players who didn’t make time for Guillermo’s games.

So while James, now with the Los Angeles Lakers, watches at home and watches the Finals, Guillermo didn’t forget about him. He made sure to take time out for James at the start of his bit before getting in to his usual antics.

Having players sign a “Wish you were here” card for LeBron is a pretty good joke from Guillermo and the Jimmy Kimmel Live! writers. Based on how the series is going so far, the Warriors would probably rather be playing James and his Lakers than Kawhi Leonard and his Raptors.

Steph Curry himself may have taken a little dig at James too by saying “save me a cigar later.” James recently on posted a video Instagram of himself smoking a cigar with other NBA players like Russel Westbrook and Chris Paul. Maybe Curry wanted to remind LeBron that while he’s enjoying a summer vacation, the Warriors are still playing for a championship. It wouldn’t be the first time Curry poked fun at a LeBron James Instagram clip.

But back to Guillermo. The card joke was topped by his “accidental” confusion over the difference between a “threesome” and a “threepeat.” You know Guillermo really likes a joke he tells when he lets out his signature giggle. Warriors coach Steve Kerr managed to get one out of Guillermo with his answer.

His idea for the Tijuana Piranhas was popular among the players with the exception of DeMarcus Cousins. If the pesos are right, Guillermo may be able to steal Kyle Lowery away from the Raptors and really sell some tickets for those basketball games/bull fights.

Now that his NBA Finals report is turned in, Guillermo can relax for a bit with his regular duties on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. He will then start preparing for award season where he will look to trade in shots of maple syrup for shots of tequila per tradition.
