President Donald Trump is struggling to come up with the money to pay for the border wall he promised, so Stephen Colbert says he should try crowdfunding.

Are Donald Trump supporters desiring the border wall so much that they’re willing to pay for it themselves?

Last night on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert kicked off his monologue speaking about the latest woes of the current president. Controversies with Stormy Daniels among other things aside, the issue of the proposed border wall has come back up. As Colbert reveals in his monologue, Trump is now calling upon the military to pay for it after failing to get the money from Mexico. So what exactly is coming next?

According to Colbert, people close to the president are suggesting he look into starting a GoFundMe campaign. Colbert is amused by the idea, and to demonstrate how it would work to viewers, he compares it to a real Kickstarter campaign. The band “Flaw” is raising money to get a tour van to transport them to a show in Iowa, and Colbert compares it to the idea of Trump’s border wall campaign. Of course, if that doesn’t work out, Colbert jokes that Flaw can just patrol the border for Trump in their new van.
