Peter Dinklage has made a name for himself by starring on Game of Thrones for so many years, but even he thinks that now is the best time to end the show.

Maybe you’re not ready to see Game of Thrones end, but Peter Dinklage thinks that it’s time.

In a new interview with Variety, Dinklage insists that it’s a good time for the series to come to a close. Concerned about how some shows stay on too long and eventually “jump the shark,” Dinklage firmly believes that ending the show now is the right call for HBO to make.

This doesn’t mean Dinklage won’t be missing his colleagues, or his time spent on the series. From the interview:

"“It’s always the sad part of our business, because you get pockets of great people for short amounts of time and then you have to move on and it’s always heartbreaking. Especially when you’ve spent more than a couple months with people.”"

In a show where main characters are seemingly killed weekly, it’s a wonder Dinklage’s Tyrion has made it so far. He’s made many enemies along the way but is certainly one of the most popular characters on the show. And apparently there’s just one season left for the charming drunk to try to survive, so let’s hope he goes the distance.
