Chelsea Handler has confirmed online that she won’t be doing another season of her Netflix talk show, instead focusing on political activism.

If you’ve been keeping up with Chelsea on Netflix, then as you’ve already inferred from the headline, I’ve got some terrible news for you.

Coming straight from Handler herself on her official Twitter account, the funnywoman has declared she won’t be returning in 2018 for a Season 3 of Chelsea. Because her explanation wouldn’t be able to fit within the 140 character limit, Handler posted a photograph of a typed explanation for her leaving. And while it’s sad for fans of the series, it’s hard to argue her POV.

“Like so many across the country, the past presidential election and the countless events that have unfolded since have galvanized me,” Handler explains at the start of her message. Clearly disturbed by everything happening under this Donald Trump presidency, it appears Handler now wants to focus on political activism to do all she can to make a difference. Handler also says she’s teaming up with EMILY’S List to “elect more women to public office, register people to vote, and campaign for candidates who are fighting for women’s rights.”

The Chelsea host adds that she will continue her relationship with Netflix, just no longer in the form of hosting a weekly talk show. They’re collaborating on a documentary where Chelsea ventures to learn more about people she doesn’t talk to enough — people of different religions and cultures.
