5. Viserion (Season 7, Episode 6)
Who would have thought one of the saddest moments on this series would have been the death of a deadly beast? I guess like Daenerys herself, many fans had taken kindly to her three dragons as they’ve grown up. Especially after seeing them in action in recent episodes, most agree that these three beasts are a highlight of the show.
In the penultimate episode of Season 7, Daenerys comes to the aid of Jon Snow and the others after they’ve been surrounded by White Walkers. With the help of her dragons, many of the undead soldiers are fried, and it seems they are no match.
However, the Night King sees an opportunity, and launches an ice spear into the air, hitting and killing Viserion. The dying dragon crashes and sinks into the frozen lake. But even more horrifying, Viserion will live on as an undead dragon at this point.
