Is Saturday Night Live on tonight, May 27th?
By Jeremy Dick
It’s Saturday, May 27th, and perhaps you want to see if there is a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight on the NBC network at the usual time.
Last week, Saturday Night Live had an incredible episode. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was inducted to the Five Timers Club, hosting the show for his fifth time. It was awesome to see, with Melissa McCarthy getting the same honor the week before.
Unfortunately, here’s where the bad news comes in. Last week’s captivating show was the season finale for Season 42 of the long running series. That means that SNL will not be back tonight with an all new episode. Bummer, as the show has been such a godsend lately on Saturday nights.
Last week also featured the final performances for three cast members. Bobby Moynihan is leaving the series after nine years on the show. Vanessa Bayer is following right behind him, calling it quits after six seasons. Finally, Sasheer Zamata has also vamoosed, following a three season stint. We may or may not see more departures before the new season, but in any case, we’re bound to see some new faces when SNL returns.

Back to the good news: this past season has been the most-watched for SNL in over two decades. This surge in popularity is fantastic news for the show moving forward. That obviously means there’s no danger of the show not returning this fall as it normally would.
