5 Star Wars actors we want to see host Saturday Night Live
By Tyler Brooke
5. James Earl Jones
Why it Would Work: There are few voices more recognizable than the voice of James Earl Jones. The man who played the voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars and Mufasa in The Lion King has a deep and ominous voice that the SNL cast could take full advantage of. There are plenty of roles that Jones could act as, but even using his voice in skits could make anything immediately more entertaining.
Why it Wouldn’t Work: Who knows if the voice of Vader would be interested in spending so much time preparing for a live sketch comedy series. At 85 years old, Jones may just be content working on his other projects instead of trying to participate in such a fast-paced environment to put together a 90-minute show with the SNL cast.
Could it Happen?: This is probably the least likely of the Star Wars actors on this list to actually host Saturday Night Live. Despite his iconic voice and impressive list of roles, having the 85-year-old actor run around on set could be difficult. Not only that, but it would be hard for Jones to draw the type of crowd that some other names in the Star Wars universe could bring to SNL.
