2. Jon Stewart returns to take down Donald Trump

Former host of The Daily Show chose the worst time to step away from the news desk when he exited the show in 2015. Donald Trump’s campaign for president was just getting started, and Stewart was going to miss out on a lot of golden opportunities to take him down on late night. Fortunately, however, Stewart still has friends in the business, and Stephen Colbert was happy to offer his desk on Late Night for Stewart to speak his mind on current events.

Stewart poked fun at the Republican party’s history of tearing down Obama and other Democrats for every little thing, and are now supporting Donald Trump who is just as guilty, if not worse, than Obama of all of those things. It proved that Republicans are only supporting Trump because they are pretty much being forced to, having to directly contradict everything else they’ve been saying for years.

Referring to Sean Hannity as “Lumpy”, Stewart was able to sum up the situation perfectly, by saying “Either Lumpy and friends are lying about being bothered by thin-skinned, authoritarian, less-than-Christian readers-of-prompter being president, or they don’t care, as long as it’s their thin-skinned prompter authoritarian tyrant narcissist.”
