3. Stewart does Glenn Beck parody on The Daily Show

When the outspoken, conservative conspiracy theorist Glenn Back took some time off to have his appendix removed in 2009, Jon Stewart used it as the basis for what he called a conspiracy theory which examines whether Hitler was attempting to steal Beck from us one organ at a time. Channeling Beck himself, Stewart essentially slipped into character as the conspiracy theorist, and wondered this about Beck’s absence from TV:

“Obviously I’m not saying this is a plot by Hitler to steal Glenn Beck from all of us internal organ by internal organ by internal organ and then reprogram him to use as a weapon. But isn’t it fascinating that I’m the only one with the courage to ask these questions?”

What could have been a passing joke turned into something more when Stewart then slipped into character as a spoof of Beck himself, pulling out a chalkboard with Beck’s anatomy and getting right into it. He talked about how the intestines are connected to the stomach, and branched from there into a longwinded connection from that to Beck’s previous problems with hemorrhoids.

The parody was unexpected, and it was a very entertaining way of showing Beck exactly how he comes across to sane people.
