As with any host of Saturday Night Live, Finn Wolfhard got a tour of the building. However, things took a “strange” turn as he walked around. At first, it’s just a case of catching Ben making some questionable edits on a computer, but then things start to get dark.
It’s all getting us ready for Wolfhard to host Saturday Night Live on Saturday, Jan. 17. This is the first episode of 2026, and it’s sure to be packed with Stranger Things references and skits, and we’re ready for it all!
Saturday Night Live meets Stranger Things in the recent promo
NBC released the SNL promo for the episode on all its usual social media channels. It started off pretty routine, with Finn walking around the building to get ready for his night on the set. However, things took a Stranger Things turn as everywhere turned red.
Finn knew what this meant. Vecnar had returned, and breaking a broom, he got ready to tackle the demonic entity. Mike got himself ready to fight off the attack with a spray bottle of cleaner, only for it to turn out to be something very hilariously normal.
I have to say, Mike’s pronunciation of “Vecnar” was the best part of the whole thing. Finn is definitely taking this hosting gig seriously.
Shortly after the release of the promo, NBC also shared some images of the readthrough for the episode. The social media platforms for SNL is where you want to be for the tea.
Saturday Night Live returns with three episodes in January
The promo is just to get us ready for the first of three episodes in January 2026. Finn is the first host, with Rocky A$AP as the musical guest. While the two of them make their debuts in these particular roles, they have had a connection to the comedy sketch show in the past.
This also isn’t the first time a Stranger Things cast member has hosted the series. However, this time it comes off the back of the epic series finale, and there are sure to be comments about that.
Then there is a new episode each week for the rest of January. We’re still waiting on the February slate for now, but we could see some breaks due to the Winter Olympics. While NBC is putting all of its primetime schedule on hold during February, it’s not been upfront with its Saturday Night Live schedule.
Saturday Night Live returns on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11:30/10:30c on NBC and streams the following day on Peacock.
