Saturday Night Live will be back before we know it. While there isn’t a new episode tonight, Saturday, Jan. 10, we only have one more week to wait.

The first episode of 2026 will air on Saturday, Jan. 17, and as we’ve previously shared, Finn Wolfhard will take on hosting duties. While this is his first time hosting, he does have a connection to the series from the past, and he’s not the first Stranger Things star to take on hosting duties on the comedy sketch series.

As for musical guests, A$AP Rocky will perform. Again, while it’s his first time officially as the musical guest, he has appeared on the series in the past, cameoing during Donald Glover’s hosting duties on the series.

There are three Saturday Night Live episodes in January 2026

There will be three episodes of SNL in total in January. That means every Saturday of January is filled with new episodes from when the series returns.

Teyana Taylor will take on hosting duties on Saturday, Jan. 24. She’s on the awards campaign for One Battle After Another, where she stars opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. With multiple award nominations for the movie, it makes a lot of sense. She’ll be joined by Geese as the musical guest, who is currently promoting their 2025 album “Getting Killed.”

Then on Saturday, Jan. 31, Alexander Skarsgård will take on hosting duties. He’s promoting two movies, The Moment, premiering on Friday, Jan. 30 and Pillion, premiering on Friday, Feb. 6. Cardi B will make her second appearance as a musical guest, performing from her new album, “Am I the Drama?”

The announcement was made in the traditional ways with a corkboard and Post-It notes on social media. Both hosts make their debuts on the series.

SNL will return one cast member short

Yes, SNL will return without one of its cast members. On Saturday, Dec. 20, Bowen Yang made his final appearance on the series. At least, his final appearance as a main cast. Maybe he could be like Pete Davidson and return in other forms in the coming years, but for now, Yang is off doing bigger things.

He’s already booked his first gig after Saturday Night Live, which will be a podcast for the Winter Olympics. Of course, he recently appeared in Wicked and Wicked: For Good, and there are many more highlights sure to come for a man as talented as he.

Saturday Night Live returns on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 11:30/10:30c on NBC.
