When it comes to late night TV hosts, Jimmy Fallon is no stranger to landing big moments. The Tonight Show is about to land an interview that hasn’t been done in eight years, although there has certainly been interest.
It was only just recently that Jimmy Fallon landed a first with one guest. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman made his first official late night appearance to talk all things AI. Since then, his company has gone to partner with Disney, making it clear that AI is here to stay.
Well, now it’s time for another landmark interview, and it’s sure to catch the attention of millions — whether live or via YouTube. It’s all about a huge Netflix series that is about to come to an end.

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon lands another Stranger Things interview
Yes, it’s all about Stranger Things, but this isn’t with the cast. While the cast did take over the show back on Thursday, Nov. 20 and Millie Bobby Brown co-hosted on Sunday, Dec. 7 for a special post-Sunday Night Football event, there is something much bigger coming.
Matt and Ross Duffer will make their first real appearance on a late night TV show in eight years to talk all things Stranger Things. Make sure you tune in on Wednesday, Dec. 17. This is just the end of a weeks-long affair with the Netflix series, with Finn Wolfhard also appearing on the show next week, on Tuesday, Dec. 16.
Sure, the Duffer brothers have been on a late night show within the last six years, but not in an official capacity. The last time was six years ago when then “appeared” via David Harbour, FaceTiming the two during Late Night with Seth Meyers. It came at a time when Hopper had made his great sacrifice, and there were questions about whether Harbour would be back or not, so it was easier to ask the Duffer brothers.
The big push for Stranger Things
This is one of those shows that doesn’t arguably need a lot of promotion. Everyone is talking about Stranger Things, as they’re easy to see how it will all come to an end. The first volume of Stranger Things season 5 dropped on Thanksgiving Eve, and quickly gained millions of viewers.
This latest push is for the final installments. Volume 2 will drop on Christmas Day, and then the feature-length final episode will drop on New Year’s Eve, bringing an end to an epic TV series. By the way, that final installment is set to drop in select theaters as well!
How many spoilers will we get in the interview? While Jimmy Fallon is sure to attempt to get a few, the Duffer brothers don’t want to spoil anything for viewers, so this is likely more of a lookback at the first installment and then a discussion on bringing Stranger Things to a close.
The Duffer Brothers will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, Dec. 17 at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.
