It may be Thanksgiving, but that doesn’t mean everything is off the air. While The Late Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live! are taking a break, NBC’s two late-night talk shows are going to air. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is the first of the two.
It’s not completely unusual for NBC to opt for new episodes of the late shows on Thanksgiving night. It helps with the Macy’s Day Parade coverage and then the last football game of the night. This encourages people to tune into the network, and they’re likely to then stick around for the late night shows. However, the shows will air at a slightly later time.

Usually, we see the shows just before midnight. Tonight, Thursday, Nov. 27, the episode will air slightly after. So, technically, it airs the day after Thanksgiving, but it’s in the middle of the night, so it counts as Thanksgiving still, right?
You’ll be able to tune into The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon at 12:05 a.m. ET/PT. Yes, this is 30 minutes later than normal, and it could be pushed back a little if the NFL game overruns.
While NBC stations are currently out on Fubo TV due to contract negotiations, you can still watch the network via YouTube TV if you’ve cut the cord.
Who will guest on The Tonight Show on Thanksgiving 2025?
Ed Sheeran is the guest of honor on the Thanksgiving episode. He’ll be joined by Philip Barantini, Sheeran’s director for the Netflix special One Shot with Ed Sheeran. The two will discuss the new Netflix special, which dropped on Friday, Nov. 21.
On top of that, Joe Keery is set to appear to talk all things Stranger Things. The first half of the fifth and final season has just dropped, and then the final episodes will drop on Christmas Day, so there is a lot to discuss and break down! There may be spoilers if you haven’t watched the first two episodes!
Yes, there is a musical guest as well. Brad Paisley will appear on the episode, and this time to perform. We will hopefully get the full version of his holiday song, which had everyone laughing when he performed a small part of it just the other week on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
There is going to be a rerun on Friday, Nov. 28 (the actual late-night episode) and then new episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will resume on Monday, Dec. 1.
