In his role as the host of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, it often seems like Stephen Colbert can't go a week without commenting on the social media activity of Donald Trump. The talk show host has also found himself being the topic of a lot of online discussion since fans have been wondering about his future since his talk show is ending soon.
Despite all of the conversation about Colbert and his show, it turns out that he can still take his many fans by surprise based on a recent announcement he made that nobody saw coming. Even though his talk show is set to end, Colbert has surprised fans by expanding it in a new way because he recently extended a recurring Late Show bit with an online-only version.

Stephen Colbert just launched the "Colbert Questionert Extraordinert"
Over the last several years, an impressive list of extremely famous celebrities have taken part in the "Colbert Questionert" during episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The recurring bit from Colbert's talk show features the show's host asking the guest roughly 15 questions with the intent of eliciting funny, quirky, and/or insightful answers.
To date, people like Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Michelle Obama, Tom Hanks, Will Ferrell, Julia Roberts, Jon Stewart, and Drew Barrymore have all taken part in the "Colbert Questionert." Thanks to the star-studded participants and the entertaining answers, the segments have become a Late Show hit, both on network TV and with the episodes uploaded on YouTube getting lots of views.
Now, the segment is getting expanded in a major way with an online-only version. On Dec. 4 2025, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert's YouTube channel uploaded what appeared to be a new episode of the recurring segment. However, it actually was the first episode of the "Colbert Questionert Extraordinert," which is the online version of the segment. That video begins with Colbert addressing the camera and explaining that he is launching the new iteration of his recurring bit.
"Now, you may be familiar with the Colbert Questionnaire, a series of questions meticulously calibrated to plumb the depths of a guest's psyche. Well, it turns out that we may have plumbed far deeper than we could have imagined, and due to what the teleprompter right here assures me is popular demand, I'm excited to introduce a new online-only series of questionnaires. This is the Colbert Questionnaire Extraordinaire."
On top of being the first episode of the "Colbert Questionert Extraordinert," the video is special for another reason. As the above thumbnail shows, the first guest on the new version of the recurring bit is Jeff Bridges. Easily one of the most beloved celebrities of all time, Bridges is an example of the rare famous people whom it seems like virtually everyone loves. Not only is Bridges especially lovable, but he is also known for seeing the world in a beautiful way. As a result, there are very few stars whose answers to a series of reflective questions would be more interesting to see.
