South Park’s new Halloween episode should scare the White House

South Park is about to take another shot directly at the White House. The long-running animated series announced its upcoming Halloween episode will continue its trend of mocking the Trump administration. If the last few seasons are any indication, Washington’s biggest names are in for a scary night.

The episode, titled “The Woman in the Hat,” centers on the White House grappling with “a disruptive spirit from the east wing.” It's a genius way to tie in Trump's demolition of the East Wing with the Halloween holiday. Meanwhile, Stan begins to worry that South Park “has become too political.” The premise sounds like vintage Trey Parker and Matt Stone with a blend of political parody and self-deprecating commentary.

Over its latest two seasons, South Park has shown little hesitation in going after the figures driving American politics. Donald Trump has become an ongoing character, while J.D. Vance, Kristi Noem, and tech billionaire Peter Thiel have all taken turns as the show’s punchlines. South Park has always mocked those in power, but the recent episodes seem to be on a different level. Perhaps it can all be traced back to Paramount announcing that The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will end in 2026, with many critics pointing to political pressure motivating the decision.

In any case, look for familiar faces during the South Park Halloween episode. A preview gave an early look at the likes of Pam Bondi, Stephen Miller, and Donald Trump, Jr.

The episode is also expected to pick up threads from the October 15 installment, which saw Peter Thiel trying to stop the Antichrist’s birth at South Park Elementary while Trump and J.D. Vance attempted to secretly abort Satan’s baby. Thiel’s failed exorcism on Cartman and vow to take him to Washington, D.C. created a cliffhanger that “The Woman in the Hat” seems eager to continue. If the haunted White House is the next stop on that storyline, it’s safe to expect a mix of political satire, religious horror, and the kind of chaos that only South Park can deliver.

We know that the Trump administration keeps a close eye on television, including South Park. Vice President Vance and the White House have issued comments about past parodies. This Halloween, expect South Park to get the attention of a few more politicians as it tells its version of a ghost story in 2025.

South Park airs its new Halloween episode on Friday, October 31, at 10/9c on Comedy Central. Season 28 continues with new episodes scheduled for November 12, November 26, and December 10.
