SNL: Timothée Chalamet reprised his rap character (you just didn't see it)

Timothée Chalamet returned to host Saturday Night Live for the third time this weekend, delivering his most impressive performance to date. The show was so jam-packed, his recurring character ended up on the cutting room floor.

Chalamet is in the rare group of SNL hosts that has their own recurring character. In fact, there were two different charactersfChalamet could have revived during his episode. It ended up not being the case as the Oscar-nominated actor had completely new sketches throughout the night.

However, insider info indicates that Chalamet's rap character, SmokeCheddaDaAssGetta, appeared in a dress rehearsal sketch. SNL Fanatic reports a third sketch featuring the SoundCloud rapper was cut for time.

According to the source, "Grammys Roundtable" featured "[Ego] Nwodim as moderator, [Kenan] Thompson as Lionel Richie, [James Austin] Johnson as Bob Dylan, Chalamet as Smokecheda the Assgetta, and [Marcello] Hernandez as a 9-year-old rapper who looks up to Chalamet. Chalamet sings a spooky song about ghosting."

It sounds like SNL didn't mess with the formula that made SmokeChedda one of the more popular characters in recent memory. There was also no way James Austin Johnson wasn't going to find a way to get his Bob Dylan impression next to Chalamet, who picked up an Oscar nomination for his role as Dylan in A Complete Unknown.

The popularity of Chalamet's character makes it hard to see why SNL chose to cut it for time. Perhaps Lorne Michael preferred to have all-new material throughout the episode rather than retread something we've already seen.

Hopefully, Saturday Night Live adds the sketch to its official YouTube channel. SmokeCheddaDaAssGetta deserves to be heard!

What other Timothée Chalamet sketches were cut for time?

SNL Fanatic came through for fans once again, delivering a full report of sketches that didn't make it past dress rehearsal. In addition to another rap sketch, the show features more material showcasing Chalamet's comedy chops.

There was a parent-teacher conference sketch that featured "[Ashley] Padilla as the teacher, Johnson, [Bowen] Yang, Chalamet, Nwodim as parents, and Thompson as the custodian. Chalamet and Nwodim keep talking over and interrupting Padilla. Thompson says that Chalamet and Nwodim's Cybertruck is smoking in the parking lot, eventually exploding."

Next up, SNL gave their take on ESPN's First Take, and may have tried to capitalize on Chalamet's College GameDay appearance. It featured "[Devon] Walker as Shannon Sharpe, Thompson as Michael Irvin (even though he's no longer on the show they are parodying), [Chloe] Fineman as Molly Qerim and Johnson as Peyton Manning. In this sketch, Chalamet comes in with some facts."

Then, "[Mikey] Day and Johnson host a talk show saying 'know who I like?' except they can't put their finger on who they actually like, they kept naming shows instead of people, such as Bones and New Girl. Chalamet has a thing for cartoon moms, like Dexter's Lab mom."

The account also reports a "Weekend Update" sketch was cut from the live show. "A Mom Whose Son Just Got Famous" returned, giving Heidi Gardner a chance to show off her hilarious character with Marcello Hernandez playing her football-playing son.

Keep an eye on SNL's YouTube channel to see if any of these sketches see the light of day.
