When Saturday Night Live returns on February 28 following its extended break, one of the biggest names in Hollywood at the moment will make their SNL hosting debut.

We’re referring to none other than Connor Storrie, who has skyrocketed to stardom following his breakout role in Crave’s hit drama Heated Rivalry. Storrie’s portrayal of Ilya Rozanov in the adaptation of Rachel Reid’s Game Changers books has earned rave reviews and helped to make Storrie a household name.

Following the overnight success of Heated Rivalry, Storrie and his co-star Hudson Williams have become global superstars with the show opening countless doors for the young actors. We’ve seen the pair presenting at the Golden Globes, carrying the Olympic Torch together, and taking the world by storm with their viral interviews.

Next weekend, we’ll see Storrie tick off yet another career milestone when he makes his SNL hosting debut, which is sure to lead to season-high ratings for the long-running late-night sketch comedy. Fans are eager to see Storrie show off his comedic chops as host and there is no doubt that he’s going to deliver an unforgettable night of sketches.

It’s so exciting to see Storrie taking to Studio 8H to host SNL, but it’s hard not to think about how NBC had the opportunity to give Storrie and Williams a place in the SNL history books.

As of 2026, SNL has aired over 1,000 episodes and welcomed hundreds of the biggest names in movies, TV, sports, and music as hosts. While there have been literally hundreds of SNL hosts, over the course of its 1,000+ episode run, the late-night comedy series has only ever had 20 episodes hosted by co-hosts rather than a singular host. This means that Storrie and Williams had the chance to join a very elite group of individuals to co-host SNL, a list that includes the following 20 co-hosts:

  • Peter Cook and Dudley Moore — Season 1, Jan. 24, 1976
  • Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss — Season 5, April 5, 1980
  • The Smothers Brothers — Season 8, Dec. 4, 1982
  • Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas — Season 8, Jan. 29, 1983
  • Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges — Season 8, Feb. 26, 1983
  • Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman — Season 9, Oct. 15, 1983
  • Michael Palin and Mary Palin — Season 9, Jan. 21, 1984
  • Billy Crystal, Ed Koch, Edwin Newman, Father Guido Sarducci, Betty Thomas — Season 9, May 12, 1984
  • Mr. T and Hulk Hogan — Season 10, March 30, 1985
  • George Wendt and Francis Ford Coppola — Season 11, March 22, 1986
  • Catherine Oxenberg and Paul Simon — Season 11, May 10, 1986
  • Anjelica Huston and Billy Martin — Season 11, May 24, 1986
  • Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short — Season 12, Dec. 6, 1986
  • Joe Montana and Walter Payton — Season 12, Jan. 24, 1987
  • Roseanne and Tom Arnold — Season 17, Feb. 22, 1992
  • Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger — Season 19, Feb. 12, 1994
  • Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey — Season 29, Jan. 17, 2004
  • Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen — Season 29, May 15, 2004
  • Tina Fey and Amy Poehler — Season 41, Dec 19, 2015
  • Steve Martin and Martin Short - Season 48, December 10, 2022

Now, it’s possible that NBC extended an invitation to the pair and only Storrie accepted, but if that was not the case you have to wonder why NBC passed up such a major opportunity. Not only would Storrie and Williams hosting together have put them among an elite group of stars, but it would have surely led to one of SNL’s biggest episodes in years.

There is no doubt that an episode co-hosted by Heated Rivalry’s leads would have easily become one of the most-watched episodes of SNL in recent years. It also would have given NBC a rare opportunity to bring the stars of the biggest show of 2025 together for their first major co-starring role since Heated Rivalry, giving fans more than just a few minutes’ worth of content to enjoy.

It would have been such an iconic pop culture moment to see Storrie and Williams co-host SNL together and we can’t even begin to imagine what the writers would have cooked up for the episode. This isn’t in any way discounting how excited we are to see Storrie host on February 28, as there is no doubt he’s going to deliver an incredible performance as host. We just selfishly would have loved to see the pair co-host and get the chance to join an elite shortlist of icons to co-host the show together.
