Given all of the YouTube clips of late-night show moments that were uploaded on YouTube in 2025, it would be hard for any of them to stand out. However, talk show moments featuring Taylor Swift, like when the pop star gave Stephen Colbert sage advice, seem designed to go viral. Despite that fact, it turns out that a surprising celebrity had a 2025 late-night show moment that got more views than anything involving Swift.
Mark Carney's appearance on The Daily Show became the most-watched 2025 late-night TV moment on YouTube
Since Taylor Swift is one of the biggest stars of her generation, she has deep connections to many talk shows. In fact, Swift even once helped a late-night talk show host out of a road rage incident. Another reason why Swift has to be loved by the talk show teams is the fact that people tune in to watch her by droves. However, an article revealed that Canada's Prime Minister had a talk show moment that was viewed more times than any of Swift's 2025 late-night moments.
On Dec. 29, 2025, LateNighter published an article chronicling the most-watched late-night show moments from 2025 on YouTube. That article revealed that a clip of Taylor Swift on The Tonight Show came in second on their list. A clip of Swift talking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon about getting engaged to Travis Kelce, Selena Gomez, Ed Sheeran, and some Super Bowl rumors received 6.24 million views.
According to the article, another late-night show moment surpassed that Swift interview clip by more than one million views. In January 2025, Mark Carney was interviewed by Jon Stewart on The Daily Show. The interview came amidst rumors that Carney was preparing to run to become the Canadian Prime Minister months before he took office on March 14, 2025.
According to LateNighter, Carney's The Daily Show interview received 7.35 million views on YouTube. In fairness to Swift, it isn't a completely fair comparison because the Carney video featured his entire interview, but her video was only a clip of her discussion with Fallon.
The remainder of the top five most-watched 2025 late-night moments on YouTube is fascinating to consider as well. Bernie Sanders on The Daily Show came in fifth place because it was viewed 5.01 million times, and Zohran Mamdani on The Daily Show came in third after getting 5.61 million views.
Unlike those two politics-centric videos, the fourth most-watched 2025 late-night clip, which got 5.08 million views, was of EJAE, Audrey Nuna & Rei Ami on The Tonight Show.
