There’s some mixed news when it comes to Saturday Night Live season 51 episode 12. Sure, it’s a new episode — and a monumental one at that — but it’s going to be the last episode for a while. The show is heading on another (expected) break.
Saturday Night Live season 51 episode 12 is the 1000th episode of the series. It also marks the end of a three-week run, and it features a host making his debut appearance.
What time is Saturday Night Live season 51 episode 12 on NBC?
The episode will air at the usual time of 11:30 p.m. ET/PT tonight, Saturday, Jan. 31. The only place to watch it live is NBC.
There are a few ways to watch NBC, even without Fubo TV carrying the network just yet. You can opt for traditional cable, Sling TV, YouTube TV, or other similar services.
Don’t get to watch it live? That’s okay, you don’t have to miss out. The episode will stream on Peacock on Sunday, Feb. 1, starting around 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT.
Who is the host of SNL tonight, Saturday, Jan. 31?
Alexander Skarsgård will host the episode, and he will make SNL history. He is the first Swedish-born host on the series. And yes, it goes without saying that this is his debut appearance.
The cast of SNL have certainly enjoyed him being on the set. Apparently, it has everything to do with height, and we can see why. Who wouldn’t love to have someone who is so tall around?
Who is the musical guest on the episode?
Cardi B will perform during the night. This marks the second appearance, after making her debut almost eight years ago.
She’ll be here to perform tracks from her new album, “Am I the Drama?” She shared the promos for the night on her Instagram, along with SNL's own channel, where she speaks a little Swedish in one of them. Yes, there’s an intro where Skarsgård does it in his native language, and it’s definitely not one of the romance languages!
Why is Saturday Night Live going on a break?
In some disappointing news, SNL will go on a three-week break after this episode, which takes out the majority of February. It’s an expected break due to the Winter Olympics, as NBC will air coverage throughout the month, and it can’t air two things at once. What a way to go into a break, celebrating 1000 episodes!
Saturday Night Live airs on Saturdays at 11:30/10:30c on NBC.
